I never heard of the Kraft test before Dr. Arthur Agatston. The Kraft test is a powerful tool to find out how your beta cells are functioning.🔎The beta cells (in the pancreas) release insulin and when you take this Kraft test, it tests the insulin response to a measured glucose challenge.

🥤It’s similar to the glucose challenge used during pregnancies but measures for about 3-5 hours.

📈There is a specific rise and fall the Kraft test is looking for to see how well your beta cells (and insulin) are functioning.

🧭The power of this test is to show insulin resistance early in its development and basically pre-pre-diabetes. (I think it’s a powerful tool for kids)

The pattern of insulin dysfunction:
🔻normal sensitivity
🔻insulin resistance
🔻severe insulin resistance
🔻insulinopenic state

Essentially the Kraft test shows where you fall in this pattern.

🍽Normally, insulin peaks quickly after a meal (or this glucose challenge) and drops down within 30 mins. As we become more insulin resistant, the insulin response becomes later and glucose also peaks later.

⚠️Overtime, insulin is higher even in a fasting state and rises higher when trying to keep blood sugar under control.

🚨Finally, during insulinopenia, the beta cells are exhausted and the pancreas can no longer produce enough insulin for the demand.

❓Do you know what can support all this damage?

🥩Eating a meat-based, low-carb diet.
